On 11 July 1960, the Constitution of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was approved. This constitution abolished the Board of Commissioners and created a single legislative, governmental and executive body - the Slovak National Council.

From 1 January 1969, on the basis of Constitutional Act No. 143/1968 Coll. on the Czechoslovak Federation, the competence of the Commission of the Slovak National Council for Finance was transferred to the newly established Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
