Helping Ukrainians navigate their tax obligations in the SR
Last update: 01.02.2023 09:00
The Financial Administration wants to help Ukrainians find their way around tax obligations in Slovakia. For the displaced persons, the institution has created a dedicated page on the Financial Administration portal; there they can find all important information. They will learn, for example, what their tax obligations are if they have started working in Slovakia, how tax residency is assessed, as well as who is entitled to a tax bonus for a dependent child.
The Financial Administration has long emphasised that the public should have access to all the necessary information on tax and customs regulations. This is no different in the case of displaced persons from Ukraine who have come to Slovakia either to work or to find temporary refuge due to the ongoing war conflict in Ukraine. The same dedicated page was already created last year with regard to customs duties, when the Financial Administration recorded an increase in inquiries on the customs clearance of humanitarian aid or on the relocation of animals.
On this dedicated page Ukrainians will find all the important information presented in the form of Q&As. The information material will soon also be available in Ukrainian. The Financial Administration believes that in this way it will also help citizens of Ukraine find their way around their tax obligations in Slovakia.
In addition to the published information, the Financial Administration is also assisting through its call centre, which the public can reach at 048/43 17 222 if necessary. All the important information is also published on the Financial Administration’s social media.
