Bilateral Cooperation
International bilateral cooperation in the realm of finance, as pursued by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, contributes to the development of mutual financial and economic relations between the Slovak Republic and other countries.
Bilateral cooperation within the financial sector prioritizes the following issue areas:
1. tax cooperation (double taxation treaties)
2. customs cooperation
3. bilateral investment agreements and government assets
4. banking and insurance via EXIMBANKA SR (Slovakia’s leading import-export bank)
In the area of public finance management, the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak republic has signed memoranda with Cuba and Belarus with the aim of deepening cooperation and intensifying the exchange of information and experience:
1. Republic of Cuba
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Finance and Prices of the Republic of Cuba, signed on May 9, 2014 in Havana – SK and ESP;
2. Republic of Belarus
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Finance of the Belarussian Republic, signed on June 2, 2014 in Minsk – SK and RU.
