We have launched assistance for travel agencies

The Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic has published a call for applications for repayable financial assistance for travel agencies. The electronic application form will be published on the website of the Slovak Guarantee and Development Bank ck.szrb.sk/

The aid scheme prepared by the Ministry of Finance responds to the unfavorable situation caused by the pandemic and the consequent cancellation of holiday tours. This measure will not only help travel agencies overcome the difficult period, but it will help tens of thousands of people in particular, who will get their money back for canceled holidays. The Ministry of Finance has set aside EUR 65 million for this purpose. We expect that approximately 82 travel agencies will need help.

Repayable aid for travel agents will be payable within 4 years and its amount may not exceed 25% of the total turnover for 2019. Travel agents will also have a preferential interest rate throughout the period. Small and medium enterprises 0.49% and large enterprises 1.01%.

Travel agencies that have issued alternative trip notifications are entitled to assistance if the passenger has not accepted the proposed amendment to the trip contract or those that have returned advances for canceled trips to a so-called protected group of clients. These are canceled holidays from 12 March 2020 to 31 August 2021.
